Sondra TenClay

I was born and raised in the West Michigan area. My husband, Arlan, and I have two daughters...Shanna is a graduate of Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago and currently is in residency (anesthesiology) at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC where she lives with her husband, Andrew, an athletic trainer at Duke Univ. Breanne is a grad of the Univ. of Michigan and spent 2 years competing as a member of the US Women's Bobsled Team. She currently lives in the Grand Rapids area with her husband, Dustin, and is a retirement consultant for Oppenheimer & Co. in Grand Rapids. Her husband, Dustin, ownes the DeHamer Bros. Garden Center in Byron Center. As a family we have relocated to Minnesota, Indiana, New York and Florida so I have a great understanding of what is involved with the transition to a new home and/or area.

My degree is in nursing and as a registered nurse I worked for 10 years in the health field in hospitals, offices and long-term care facilities and in management roles involving the management of 5 -200 employees. Upon my move to Indiana I became involved in real estate beginning my career in commercial real estate. While there I was involved in the marketing and leasing of multi-family and retail projects throughout Indiana and Illinois. When a move brought us back to Michigan in 1987 I decided to move into the residential market where I have remained specializing in marketing and relocation.

Believing that involvement in the industry is key to my growth and a benefit to my clients, I am active in the Grand Rapids Assoc. of REALTORS as well as the Michigan and National Associations. I have been a consistent mulit-million dollar producer and was named the "1997 Realtor of the Year" by the Grand Rapids Assoc. of REALTORS. I recently served a three year term on the Grand Rapids Assoc. Board of Directors as Secretary. Currently I am serving a four year term as a member of the National Association of Realtors' Board of Directors. This involvment benefits my clients by giving me a broader perspective and the opportunity to recognize new trends and marketing tools.

ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) GRI (Graduate of REALTORS Institute), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) and CRRS (Certified Residential Referral Specialist), and ePRO (a real estate specific technology certification).
